Day Habilitation

The Day Habilitation Program is a comprehensive training program for adults with profound to severe developmental disabilities. Areas of training include social skills, self-help skills, communication, mobility, and safety. Skills are taught through repetition, positive reinforcement, and modeling of appropriate behavior by staff, while at the same time encouraging active participation and fostering independence of our clients.

Community integration is also a vital element of the Day Habilitation Program. The individuals served are given the opportunity to choose activities and outings in which they wish to participate. These include going shopping, attending movies and sporting events, visiting the zoo, museums, the Governor's Mansion, Turner Field, and the Gwinnett Civic Center, etc. This continued exposure in the community enhances social adaptability and provides opportunities for participation which individuals without disabilities experience.
