Health Services
Hi-Hope provides nursing services to our individuals. Nurses complete all the required Health Risk Screening Assessments regularly. They monitor medication administration records, check medications for accuracy against prescriptions and administer medication as indicated. Doctor appointments are scheduled and annual physicals are evaluated.
Staff training on a variety of medical issues in relation to individuals with developmental disabilities is done on a continuous basis. Annual training in CPR, First AID, HIV, Hepatitis B, Bloodborne Pathogens, Infection Control and Universal Precautions is also provided.
Nursing staff is on call 24/7 for residential services.
Behavior Supports
A Board Certified Behavior Analyst develops positive behavioral support plans, behavioral protocols, safety plans, contingency plans for residential clients receiving psychotropic medication and plans for individuals during extreme situations. Staff training and modeling related to building healthy relationships with individuals and understanding the crisis cycle are provided regularly. Supports are available as needed for residential individuals receiving psychiatric services.
Transportation Coordination
We participate in a State Coordinated Transportation System. Viewpoint Health is the current transportation contractor for Gwinnett County. Transportation through this system is provided to individuals living in their own homes. Transportation may be provided to and from the weekday program and employment sites for individuals working in the community. We inform each individual's family regarding the availability of transportation. Transportation liaisons assist with any transportation issues that may arise.
